There is free parking at the History Centre including spaces close to the entrance for Blue Badge holders. Alternative public pay and display car parking is available at the railway station, about 550 metres away, in Cocklebury Road. The Olympiad Car Park in Sadlers Mead is currently closed.
Food and Drink
Food and drink can now be consumed on site but we have limited indoor space and you will need to book a lunchtime slot when you complete your booking form. For more information please read the Frequently Asked Questions. We would advise that you bring your own water as we no longer have a water cooler in the reception area. Hot drinks are available from a vending machine. There are picnic benches outside the front entrance for use when the weather permits. Alternatively there is a range of food outlets within a short walk of the History Centre.
To protect the archives, no eating or drinking is allowed within the search rooms.

Secure lockers are available in the reception area for coats, bags and personal belongings.
Meeting Rooms at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre are currently not available for hire.
Please note that smoking (including the consumption of electronic cigarettes) is NOT permitted anywhere on the site of Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre, including the car park.
