Prehistory - Workshop Session

KS2 History

Discover the prehistory on your doorstep using a range of materials from the Wiltshire County Archaeology service. Pupils will investigate the prehistory of the local area of your choice (within Wiltshire and Swindon). The following sources are available:

  • local maps
  • aerial photographs
  • objects from excavations to handle
  • information on local sites and finds
  • photographs of local excavations and finds (subject to availability)

The workshop session involves students in fun activities that explain how and why archaeologists investigate in the area, what they find and how this adds to our knowledge of life in the locality 1,000s of years in the past.
