New service for Wiltshire’s museums
From April 2012 museums in Wiltshire will be able to call upon the services provided by the Wiltshire Council Conservation and Museums Advisory Service (CMAS).
Based at the History Centre in Chippenham the team will be providing advice, support and training on all aspects of running a museum. This includes activities such as recruiting volunteers, cataloguing and conserving historic objects, mounting displays and writing funding applications.
The role of CMAS is to support museums to offer the very best service that they can preserving and promoting the heritage of the county.
Full details of the CMAS service can be found in our brochure.
The CMAS team is formed from elements of both the Conservation and Museums Advisory Service. In due course we will be revising our webpages to give you all the information you need in one place. Whilst we are working on that please continue to refer to these existing pages.
