What's New

While the History Centre has been closed staff have been busy working from home on new content, including our Conservation & Museums Advisory Service (CMAS). Check out conservator Kayleigh Spring's work on football boots which belonged to soccer legend Pele. The Archives & Local Studies team is creating a new collection about Living in Lockdown documenting Wiltshire and Swindon's experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic. And read our latest blog on tracing your military ancestors online.

Volunteer

At the History Centre we offer a range of opportunities for volunteer work for different ages and abilities, and for work experience students from Year 10 to those in Higher Education.

“As a volunteer I’ve gained quite as much as I may have given” (Lacock Project Volunteer)
