Welcome to the website of the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre, your passport to the past.
Resurfacing work will be taking place on the approach roads to the History Centre between 28 July and 5 September. During this time some diversions may be in place but it is business as usual and all visitors will continue to have access to our car park and the building. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
Wiltshire and Swindon has a rich and diverse heritage. The History Centre brings together the archaeology, archive, buildings record, conservation, and museum advisory services together with the county local studies library to create a centre whose sum is much more than that of its parts.
If you are researching your ancestors or trying to find out more about a town or parish in Wiltshire or Swindon, or if you want professional advice and guidance on other heritage issues, we are the ideal place to contact or visit.
